"Every now and then the Irish music industry turns up something very special. ANÚNA is, beyond doubt, one of the most exciting musical concepts to emerge in recent times, combining beautiful, atmospheric music with a stunning stage presentation.

ANÚNA have released a series of acclaimed recordings which explore the relationship between the ancient music of the Celts and today's audience. The young Dublin composer Michael McGlynn formed the group in 1986 with the specific purpose of exposing ancient and contemporary Irish and Celtic music, which would be otherwise ignored, to modern audiences. This is still one of the main reasons for the group's existence today.

The material performed by ANÚNA includes songs in Middle English, Scots Gaelic, Irish, Breton, Medieval Irish, Irish, Latin and Greek.
